Elle Mag Cover Girls!

The Elle Magazine and L'Oreal Paris event was a great time to be had by all.... not to mention how many fun Elle covers i got to make with copious fans.

First the ladies... and some gents.... got to have a L'Oreal makeover. fancy faces! then if they were of drinking age there were quite lovely martinis to quench their rigourous make-over thirst!

and then.... the best part of the whole damn thing. a pic taken infront of a green screen, that made it appear as if we were all gracing the cover of Elle Magazine. Can Nina handle it? maybe not.  then the pics were printed out for each lovely fan to take home as a souvenier. unfortunately for me i was unable to get copies for myself... sad face. but a dear friend of mine the Notorious Esther Kim! came to my rescue and sent me this....

Kit Pistol visits the Sweet Life

kitsweet2.jpg

I am so excited to visit my good friend Erin's boutique in Olympia, WA this saturday! we used to be fellow Betsey Johnson girls and so we share great memories as well as a love for frills, fun, and red lipstick.... of course!

This visit commences the first of many in store events this month!!

below is an article regarding this saturday at Sweet Life...

'Project Runway' contestant visits Oly

Designer's playful vibe fits in well at Sweet Life
Molly Gilmore
For The Olympian

Kit Pistol might not have lasted long on Bravo TV's "Project Runway" this season, but her design career didn't end there.

Pistol, who will bring her creations to Olympia on Saturday, is working on her first runway collection. The Los Angeles wardrobe stylist also is creating pieces for clients and has a line of her trademark hair bows and gray velvet T-shirts with her logo.

She'll show off some of her designs and pose for photos with fans at Sweet Life, which carries the bows and tees.

"She's one of my really close friends," said Erin Gillet, who owns the boutique that features feminine, even girly, fashions for women, babies and young children. "I talked her into it. We used to work together in L.A. for Betsey Johnson, and we kept in contact."

Pistol's playful designs fit in with the girly vibe at Sweet Life.

"My style is playful in an appealingly bold way," she told Julie Wolfson in an interview for LAist.com, a Web site about life in Los Angeles. "It is definitely a bit coquettish but tough ... street and high fashion combined. Oh, and I almost always wear a bow in my hair. It completes my vibe and makes me happy!"

Pistol was booted from "Project Runway" too early, many TV critics and fellow designers say.

"Alas, the perennially never-good-enough-or-bad-enough designer got aut'd for making an avant garde meets 'Little House on the Prairie' tiered apron dress," wrote Entertainment Weekly's Jessica Shaw. "No matter what you thought of the dress, though, you can't possibly be happy Kit was the member of her team who went home."

When TV Guide interviewed the final four challengers, two mentioned Pistol as someone who should have made it to the end.

"Kit should have had a chance," said Rami Kashou, another Los Angeles designer, who was among the three finalists. "If you look at a designer's work and you can consistently guess without knowing whose work that is, there's trademark there. I think that's what's important. Kit had that."

But Pistol herself said she was ready to go. In an exit interview with Entertainment Weekly, she said, "What you didn't see last night was more of the bantering on the runway. When they asked who should go home, I said myself. I felt very frustrated the whole season because I wasn't getting any positive or negative attention from the judges."

But she did get valuable advice from "Project Runway" mentor Tim Gunn, as she told LAist.com:

"To go with my instinct, and also that more is not more. Rats! Too bad!"

"I LOVE IT TOO!" its not the tag line for E! News for no reason.. let me tell you!! after copious interviews and blog site reads, nothing made my day better than to show up for a hard days work at E! Entertainment.

First i was interviewed for E! news, then i played some Miss Packman upstairs. thats right. thanks G4! i mean...how rad is that... to play old school video games on your lunch break?! shut up!

and then i was on the radio for my first time ever! what a cool expereince! on E!'s xm radio that is, YO on E! where we chatted about project runway, how heidi klum is even hotter and funnier in person, how i only got to Act 2 on Miss Packman (broken joystick), and that katie holmes should still be referred to as Joey. i even gave my insight to who could win project runway!!

i liked wearing the headphones too.

Christina Scarbo

"Nooo! Pick Rickyyy!"

This is what many of us Project Runway fans were screaming at the screen last night during the big elimination ceremony.

As some of you know, we here at E! hold a special place in our hearts (and wardrobe closets) for Christina "Kit Pistol" Scarbo, as she is one of our wardrobe stylists (working primarily with Samantha Harris for E! News and Dancing with the Stars). She's just about the coolest girl you could ever meet, not to mention talented as all hell. So, I sat down with her this morning to have a good sobfest over her Runway loss and found out she's dealing with it much better than we are. Read on...

How did you feel about getting the boot? Are you happy you made it that far?
I definitely would not have gone on Project Runway if I hadn't thought I was going to make it to the top three. I think that’s why everyone goes on that show. So, I was disappointed I was going home. But since it’s challenge by challenge on the runway, I had a feeling, and I wasn’t shocked that day.

Who are you rooting for now?
I’m definitely rooting for Christian. I like that Project Runway is about fresh, innovative talent, and I think he’s a 21-year-old firecracker who is amazing. I’d love to see him win.

And you and Sweet P are still close friends, right?
Sweet P and I are the best of friends. We go on double dates with our boyfriends all the time; it's supercute. She’s amazing, and I’m so glad she just did a phenomenal job in the challenge last night after the hardships.

Yeah, Rami was kind of an ass. What's up with that?
I’m going to be diplomatic; everyone has their reactions to stress. Rami is an amazing person—when he gets stressed out, maybe not as amazing. But you know, you do what you can. You do what you can with four hours of sleep and string cheese.

Have you been recognized a lot?
[Laughs] Well, I can't go into fabric stores. There are a lot of fans downtown and in fabric stores. But it’s been great. It’s nice to have the support from all the fans and the encouragement to go on and to know there’s people watching for me when I do my collection in March. And lots of people to go to kitpistol.com.

How's your brand going?
I’m excited, because as a small designer, funding is crazy and tough. So, I launched an accessories line that I’m selling at Studio and Fred Segal and also online at shopkitpistol.com. And I’m using all the proceeds from those accessories to fund part of the collection I’m doing in March. So, I’m really trying to use Project Runway as the tool it’s meant to be—to, you know, make a real career out of it and not a celeb-reality career.

Would you ever do a reality show again?
I don’t think so. I like to be behind the camera better.

Just send Samantha out.
Yeah, "Samantha, you go be pretty and smart, and I’ll just stand here with a hanger."

Now, show Kit some love in the Comments section below, vote in the Project poll below, and check out shopkitpistol.com, will ya?

THANKS KRISTEN AND ALL AT E!

Hunting the Red Lion

redleon.jpg

aka the best time ever.

the first unintentional date i ever had with my boyfriend. so we still haunt it date style. its super fun.

a good girl friend of mine introduced me to this tavern before i even lived in los angeles. we always had a secret desire to wear those lederhosen. if you dont know... the lovely girls at this place wear lederhosen in their own modern interpretaion. it is the closest one can get to a fantasy life without divulging themselves entirely. and so, too much stress equals a trip to the red lion.

bitburger.

sauerkraut.

jagermeister.

problems solved.

for a vegetarian the restraunt part of the expereince is not the most developed. but i guess that just makes the drinking more effective. on this evening of pints of beer and delicious german fried potatoes, there was a wide array of nonsense throughout the conversation. was andy warhol more talented as an artist or at networking? who lives better lives--priests and nuns or buddhist monks? why is vinatge clothing not as great as it used to be? is sauerkraut better hot or cold?...is it ever even supposed to be cold? does america need award shows anyway? or is it the last great tradition?  why doesnt every bar have an electric keyboard player? especially when the dudes next to you are requesting Nine Inch Nails but they are probably 109 years old?

the questions dont really matter because they dont get answered.

what matters is the dark atmosphere, the beer garden on warm summer nights, the beer, the cigarette vending machine, the beer, the keyboard player, the beer, and the company.

a must!! please enjoy the Red Lion at:

2366 Glendale Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90039

Whatcanyacallit?

You can call it my favorite long lost hershey candy- Whatchamacallit!  Kit kats worked perfect but i wish i could have made a  "whatchamacallit" dress, cause ya cant really call it wearable.

but either way... making dresses out of chocolate! Who could of guessed reality tv could be so sweet?

I thought i was part of Willie Wankas factory... too bad we didnt have any Oompa Loompas to help us in the work room. rats!

Some great friends joined me to watch the episode, and the room was full of AMAZING commentary..... ie. as Heidi Klum protests to Elisa "Where is the joy?" Kat responds: "Back with the almonds".

even tho i was safe, i gotta pocket full of almonds. :)

whatcanyacallitnew.jpg

ok heres the real deal...kit kat top, rolo belt, giant hershey candy bar skirt
